USB Device Not recognized

USB Device Not recognized or USB Device detected as an "Unknown Device" in the Device Manager of Windows Vista

Troubleshooting Tips :

Make sure you have the Drivers CD you got with the laptop or desktop before tryiing the steps below.

1. Unplug all the USB devices

2. Go to Device Manager by navigating through Start - > Control Panel -> System - > Device Manager or simply by right clicking "Computer" and selecting the Properties and then Device Manager.

3. Expand the USB Controllers.

4. Right Click each USB Controller and select Uninstall

5. Once uninstalled restart the machine and thats it your are good to go. Just plug each devices one by one and that might resolve your problem, If by default the device is not recognized insert the driver CD and install the default drivers.
